Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle Rules Out Currency Demonetization Path

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has stated that the government will not take the path of currency demonetization. He announced on social media that he would not pursue the route of demonetization. 

An X user named 'Airlinegai' had urged Wagle on the social media platform X not to pursue demonetization (demonetization) like India did in 2016 in pursuit of cheap popularity. 

'Respected Swarnim Wagle, please do not go for currency demonetization (demonetization) in pursuit of cheap popularity like India did in 2016. It does not work,' he wrote, 'It only causes suffering to the poor and inflicts huge economic damage on the nation. There are many better ways to take action against the corrupt.'

In response, he wrote - 'We will not.'
