Koshi Province Assembly Receives Annual Report; Minister Details Damage from Youth Protests

Biratnagar. The annual report of the Industry, Tourism, and Environment Committee for the fiscal year 2081/82 was presented in today's meeting of the Koshi Provincial Assembly. The report was presented by the committee chairman, Ramdev Yadav.

During the zero hour and special time of the assembly, in response to queries raised by Koshi Provincial Assembly members, Minister for Home Affairs and Law, Indramani Parajuli, informed that property worth NPR 76 crore 95 lakh was damaged in structures under the provincial government due to the 'Gen Z' generation's protests.

He stated that NPR 15 crore has been deposited into the Reconstruction Fund established for the rehabilitation of damages caused by the floods and landslides in Ilam and Taplejung on the preceding Assoj 18.

He further informed that the existing funds in the account will be invested this year in infrastructure to prevent monsoon-related disasters in Ilam and Taplejung.

The next meeting of the Provincial Assembly will be held on Chaitra 17 at 1:00 PM.
