Roads Blocked Across Nepal Due to Floods and Continuous Rain

Kathmandu. Main highways have been blocked due to floods and continuous rain in various provinces of the country. As of the report on Monday morning at 6:30 AM, traffic operations have been affected on various road sections in Kosi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces due to landslides and floods.

In Kosi Province, on the Mid-Hill Highway in Bokhim, Bhojpur Municipality-5, the road has been operating one-way since the flood on Asar 12, and another alternative route is also in operation there. The Mechi Highway in Rajduwali, Ilam Municipality-9, has been completely blocked since Asar 23 due to continuous rain. An alternative route is currently in operation there.

In Bagmati Province, all vehicles have been stopped on the V.P. Highway running through Khurkot-Nepalethok-Katunjebesi in Kavre since Asar 22 due to potential floods. The Kanti Lokpath (Lalitpur to Hetauda) in Bharyangdanda, Bhimfedi Rural Municipality-8, Makwanpur, has been completely blocked since Asar 27 due to landslides, and the Arniko Highway in Kodari, Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchok, has been completely blocked since Asar 29 due to landslides.

In Gandaki Province, the Pokhara Tangting road section in Jamdo, Mardi Rural Municipality-2, Kaski, has been completely closed since the landslide on Asar 27.

Roads in various four districts of Lumbini Province have been obstructed by landslides. The Ghhorahi-Rukum Martyr's Road in Khola Bang, Parivartan Rural Municipality-1, Rolpa, and the Saljhandi Dhorpatan Road section in Dhung Khola, Panini Rural Municipality-2, Arghakhanchi, have been completely blocked since Asar 28.

The Madan Bhandari Highway in Kaule, Chhatrakot Rural Municipality-3, Gulmi, has been completely closed since Asar 29. The Siddhartha Highway in Headbox, Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Palpa, which was affected by a landslide on Asar 28, is currently operating one-way.
