Karnali Provincial Government Allocates NPR 34 Million for Innovation Projects Across Seven Local Levels

Surkhet. The Karnali Provincial Government has decided to provide NPR 34 million to seven local levels under the Innovation Partnership Fund. The cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to grant budget authorization to the respective municipalities for projects to be operated in the current fiscal year.

Provincial Government Spokesperson Binod Shah stated that the objective of the innovation program is to bring transformation in sectors such as digital technology, service delivery improvement, education, health, and enterprise development. According to him, the selected projects have been designed keeping local needs and the expansion of technology-friendly services at the center.

As per the decision, NPR 4.2 million has been allocated to Sanibheri Rural Municipality for the 'Digital Technology Based Local Service Delivery' program. Similarly, NPR 4.2 million will be provided to Sharada Municipality for the implementation of the 'Integrated Digital Service and Information Management System'.

With the aim of bringing improvement in the education sector, NPR 5.46 million has been allocated to Chaurajhari Municipality for the 'Digital Classroom Management Project'. To promote economic development and entrepreneurship, Narayan Municipality will be provided NPR 54,51,700 for operating the 'Commercial Enterprise Development Project'.

Towards strengthening the health sector, the largest allocation of NPR 75 million has been set aside for the 'Digital Innovation Based Community Hospital Strengthening Program' in Mugu Karnali Rural Municipality. Likewise, NPR 22,88,300 has been allocated for operating the 'Technology-Friendly Integrated Service Delivery Center' in Nalgad Municipality. Raskot Municipality will be provided NPR 49 lakh under the 'Digital Palika' program.

The provincial government expects to expand the use of technology at the local level through these projects, making service delivery effective, transparent, and accessible. Furthermore, it is believed that innovation will also contribute to strengthening local economic activities and creating employment.
