Man Arrested During Protest Against KP Sharma Oli's Detention Found to Be a Fugitive in Banking Fraud Case

Kathmandu. It has been confirmed that one person arrested for protesting against the detention of CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was actually a fugitive defendant.

Bimal Dhamala, who was arrested from Babar Mahal on Saturday, was found to be absconding in a banking offense case, SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range Kathmandu told Ratopati. He was found to be a fugitive in two cases.

SP Bhattarai stated that he would be kept in custody for investigation. Dhamala had attempted to vandalize a private Scorpio vehicle in Babar Mahal.

The other six people arrested from the protest site have been released.
