Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Arrested Following Commission Recommendation

Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was arrested this morning. He was arrested from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, and taken to the District Police Range in Bhadrakali. 

The commission led by Gauribahadur Karki, formed to investigate the demonstrations held on Bhadra 23 and 24, had recommended initiating criminal proceedings against former Prime Minister KP Oli, Ramesh Lekhak, and officials of the Central Security Committee. 

On Friday, the first cabinet led by Balen Shah decided to implement the commission's recommendation to file criminal cases against Oli and Lekhak. Following this, Oli and Lekhak were arrested.
