Balendra Shah Leads 15-Member Cabinet Formed Based on Qualification and Inclusivity

Kathmandu. A 15-member cabinet has been formed under the leadership of Balendra Shah (Balen). It has been observed that the cabinet formed on Friday was constituted based on criteria of qualification and inclusivity.

Among the newly appointed ministers, two have completed studies up to the doctoral level. Ten have completed postgraduate degrees, while three have studied up to the bachelor's level. One minister has an educational qualification equivalent to higher secondary school.

The new government's Prime Minister, Balen, holds a Master's degree in Engineering.

Swarnim Wagle, holding the responsibility of Finance Minister with the second seniority, has mentioned completing studies up to the doctoral level from the Australian National University.

Sudhan Gurung, who ranks third in the government as Home Minister, has completed A-Levels, which is a qualification equivalent to higher secondary school.

Shishir Khanal, who holds the fourth seniority and the responsibility of Foreign Minister, has a postgraduate degree. The details mention that he obtained a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Similarly, Sunil Lamsal, who is ranked sixth and holds the responsibility of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, has mentioned pursuing a doctorate at Kathmandu University.

Birajbhakta Shrestha, who is handling the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, has a bachelor's level educational qualification. He stated that he graduated from San International College.

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Khadka Paudel (Ganesh) has not mentioned his educational details to the Election Commission. However, it is reported that he holds a Master's degree in English Literature.

Sasmita Pokharel, who is responsible for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has mentioned in the Election Commission records that she completed her bachelor's degree from Kathmandu University.

Nisha Mehta, who is responsible for the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Water Supply, has completed a Master's degree in Nursing.

Bikram Timilsina, who is responsible for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has completed studies up to the doctoral level from Griffith University in Australia.

Pratibha Rawal, who is responsible for two ministries—Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, and Federal Affairs and General Administration—has completed studies up to the postgraduate level.

It is mentioned in the records that both Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam and Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development and Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary have completed postgraduate studies in Law.

Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Deepak Sah completed his Master's degree from the London School of Hygiene in the UK, while Women, Children and Senior Citizens Minister Sita Wadi has also completed studies up to the postgraduate level, according to the details.
