Federal Parliament Secretariat Allocates Offices Based on Party Strength in House of Representatives

Kathmandu. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has managed parliamentary offices for the parties representing the House of Representatives based on their seat count.

Since the construction of the new parliament building in Singha Durbar has not been completed, the party offices have been managed in the existing structures within the current Parliament Secretariat premises.

Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament, informed that following the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, the party offices were managed according to the changed seat distribution among the parties represented in the parliament.

The Parliament Secretariat has managed the offices for the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML in their previous parliamentary party offices, while the office previously used by the CPN (Maoist Centre) has been provided to the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Furthermore, the office previously used by the RSP has been allocated to the CPN (Maoist Centre), Shram Sanskriti, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, spokesperson Giri stated.

He informed that this is a short-term arrangement, and parliamentary activities will take place from the new building once its construction is complete. The Parliament Secretariat has announced that the oath-taking ceremony for the members elected in the House of Representatives election will be held in the multipurpose hall of the new parliament building. The oath-taking for the members of parliament is scheduled for Chaitra 12.
