Indefinite Curfew Imposed in Kapilvastu's Maharajganj Bargadwa Area Following Communal Tension

Kapilvastu. The District Administration Office, Kapilvastu, has imposed an indefinite curfew in the Bargadwa area of Maharajganj in the district. The District Administration Office issued the indefinite curfew in the area after tension arose between youths from the Hindu and Muslim communities following an incident of vandalism during devotional singing at a temple on Saturday.

The District Administration Office, in a published notice, stated that the curfew has been imposed from 2 PM today until further notice, in accordance with Section 6(3) of the Local Administration Act 2028, prohibiting any form of gathering, assembly, or procession to prevent potential clashes.

The notice also mentioned that anyone violating the order will be taken into custody and action will be taken according to the law. The notice specified that the curfew has been imposed from Bargadi Bridge in the east, Bahadurganj Chowk in the west, Maharajganj Bazaar in the north, and Hardauna in the south.
