Salman Khan's Upcoming War Drama Renamed from 'Battle of Galwan' to 'Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace'

Mumbai. The title of Bollywood actor Salman Khan's highly anticipated war drama film 'Battle of Galwan' has been changed. The production house has renamed the film to 'Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace'.

The film's director, Apoorva Lakhia, clarified that the decision to change the title was not taken arbitrarily. In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, he claimed that the new name better represents the broader sentiment and message of the film.

According to him, the production team had been discussing this for a long time, and this step was taken with the aim of giving a broader meaning of patriotism to the film's story rather than limiting it to just one incident.

This film is inspired by the story of the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley in 2020. The bravery and struggle shown by the Indian soldiers in difficult circumstances form the main basis of the film. The production team believes that the title 'Matrubhumi' will present the feeling of sacrifice and patriotism more deeply.

Recently, Salman Khan released the new poster of the film through social media. In the poster, he is seen confronting the enemy with determination even while injured. Actress Chitrangada Singh will be seen opposite Salman for the first time in this film.

Along with the title change, there is also growing interest regarding the film's release date. However, the production house has not yet announced the official release date.
