Three Men Arrested in Separate Incidents for Alleged Rape in Kanchanpur and Myagdi

Kathmandu. Police have taken three men into custody on charges of committing rape against women in two different districts of the country. They were arrested for their alleged involvement in these separate incidents that occurred in Kanchanpur and Myagdi. 

In Kanchanpur's Bhimdatta Municipality, 47-year-old Naresh Giri of Ward No. 10 and 40-year-old Hira Nath of Ward No. 9 were arrested on charges of raping a 40-year-old woman. Based on the complaint filed by the victimized woman, a team deployed from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur took both individuals into custody on Wednesday afternoon.

Similarly, in Myagdi's Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality, 42-year-old Prem Bahadur Damai was arrested on allegations of raping a 52-year-old woman. Police from the Munatakam Police Post arrested Damai, a resident of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality Ward No. 7, Dharapani, on Tuesday morning. The police, acting promptly after the victim filed a complaint, succeeded in taking him into custody from the village itself.

Police have initiated a serious investigation into both incidents. The Police Headquarters stated that legal proceedings have begun against the arrested individuals and that detailed information regarding the incidents is being collected.
