Five Arrested in Pokhara for Illegal Gambling Operation

Kaski. Police have arrested five individuals red-handed while they were gambling at a location in Akladevi, Ward No. 19 of Pokhara Metropolitan City. Acting on a special tip-off, a joint police team deployed from the Kaski District Police Office and the Bagar Ward Police Station raided the location around 2:30 PM on Falgun 23, taking them into custody.

From the gambling den, police recovered NPR 99,855 in cash and a deck of playing cards. The arrested individuals have been detained at the Kaski District Police Office, and legal proceedings have been initiated against them. The police have obtained an extension from the Kaski District Administration Office to further investigate the case under the offense against public interest, health, safety, convenience, and morals, specifically prohibiting gambling or betting.

Further detailed investigation into this incident is underway after securing a 10-day remand from the court, informed Hari Bahadur Basnet, Police Deputy Superintendent and Information Officer for Kaski Police.
