Political Parties in Banke Pledge for Peaceful and Fair By-Election

Banke. Targeting the House of Representatives member election scheduled for this coming Falgun 21, major political parties in Banke have jointly committed to a peaceful, impartial, and dignified election.

In an all-party, multi-stakeholder meeting chaired by the Election Officer, representatives of political parties, candidates, and concerned bodies committed to a 10-point decision to conduct the voting in Banke Constituency No. 2 in a clean, peaceful, and fear-free environment.

The decision states that voters must compulsorily bring their Nepali citizenship certificate, voter ID card, or an official identification document issued by the relevant body when entering the polling station. It was also decided that necessary assistance would be arranged for physically disabled, elderly, and visually impaired voters.

Likewise, arrangements have been made so that each candidate can appoint a polling agent, and that agent must compulsorily display an official identification card. It is mentioned that no promotional materials, flags, banners, slogans, or similar items are allowed to be used within the polling station premises.

The meeting decided that security personnel would be deployed to maintain peace and security at the polling stations, all parties would be urged to follow the instructions of the Election Officer, and any disputes arising during voting would be resolved immediately through discussion and coordination.

The Election Officer urged all voters to be present within the stipulated time to exercise their right to vote and stated that the active cooperation of everyone is necessary to make the election clean, impartial, and dignified.
