GANDAKI PROVINCE POLICY AND PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER DURGA LAMICHHANE RESIGNS

Pokhara. Gandaki Province Policy and Planning Commission member Durga Lamichhane has resigned. The government is in a hurry to prepare the budget. Discussions are intensifying among ministries for the budget to be presented on Asar 1.

The provincial government has already presented the policy and program in parliament. However, the Policy and Planning Commission, which plays a major role in the formulation of policy, program, and budget, has become without members. Member Lamichhane has resigned citing personal reasons. She submitted her resignation letter to Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey, effective from Jestha.

She wrote that she decided to step down from the post due to personal and professional engagements that have created a situation where she cannot fully dedicate time to the commission's responsibilities. Gandaki's Policy and Planning Commission has a provision for one vice-chairperson and two members.

Vice-chairperson Dr. Krishnachandra Devkota and member Lamichhane were appointed from the Congress quota. Member Dr. Yogendra Raj Rizal, appointed from the UML quota, remains.
