Former PM Jhalanath Khanal Stresses Preserving Culture for National Prosperity on Holi Festival

Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister and senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, stated that it is the responsibility of the current generation to move forward on the path to prosperity while preserving the diverse festivals, languages, attire, and culture celebrated in the country.

Issuing a best wishes message on the occasion of Fagu Purnima (Holi) festival, he said that in our country, which is a unique confluence of ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity, the festival plays an important role in allowing all Nepalis to exchange happiness and further strengthen social relations.

Wishing happiness, peace, continuous progress, and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers residing at home and abroad, leader Khanal expressed confidence that Fagu Purnima, the great festival of Nepalis celebrated joyfully by reveling in colors, will strengthen the spirit of mutual harmony, brotherhood, and national unity.

Mentioning that 123 linguistic communities and people of 10 religious faiths and beliefs reside in Nepal, he stated that maintaining social tolerance, mutual respect, and coexistence amidst so much diversity is our shared responsibility.

Former Prime Minister Khanal noted that festivals like Fagu Purnima provide an opportunity to bind everyone together and strengthen national unity in a diverse society.
