CPN Leader Prachanda Urges Fair, Peaceful General Election on Falgun 21

Kathmandu. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), has urged for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21 to be conducted impartially, independently, and peacefully.

Addressing the community in a video message released on Sunday, he recalled the uncertain political situation following the mass movement, mentioning the facilitation for the formation of the interim government and the stance taken for a fresh mandate.

Stating that his party played a significant role in bringing the country to the election stage, Chairman Dahal said that history would evaluate that role. He committed that while leading the government, efforts were made to establish good governance and the rule of law, and major corruption scandals were exposed, adding that the party would continue this campaign again.

“When we were in government, we tried to implement good governance and the rule of law, but the government changed at that time. Even when we were in the opposition afterward, we continuously struggled against misgovernance,” he mentioned, “We are confident that the people will impartially evaluate the role of all parties in this election and vote for the Communist Party of Nepal.”

Urging all political parties, candidates, security personnel, and voters to behave with restraint and responsibility in the election, Chairman Dahal stated that making the election successful to strengthen the democratic process is the shared responsibility of all.
