Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal Departs for India Visit

Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is departing for India today at the invitation of Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. 

This visit, which is part of the regular high-level visits and exchanges between Nepal and India, is expected to further strengthen the historical and multifaceted bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Thursday, making public the schedule of Minister Khanal's official visit to India. During the visit, Foreign Minister Khanal will hold an official bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart Dr. Jaishankar in New Delhi. The Ministry stated that the foreign ministers of the two countries will hold in-depth discussions on various issues of mutual interest between Nepal and India.

The press release mentions that the talks will focus particularly on cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, energy sectors, and further strengthening and expanding mutual relations between the peoples of the two countries. The Ministry believes this visit will be an important link in taking the mutual cooperation and understanding between Nepal and India to new heights.

Foreign Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on May 24th after completing all the programs of the official visit.
