Man Arrested in Kathmandu for Spreading Misinformation on TikTok

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a young man in Kathmandu on charges of spreading misinformation on social media (TikTok). The arrested individual is 23-year-old Prakash Bhatta, a resident of Shuklaphanta Municipality-7, Kanchanpur. Bhatta had posted misleading content on TikTok stating, 'Balen Shah shot in Jhapa.'

SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range Kathmandu told Ratopati that the accused was arrested on Friday from Dabali Chowk in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-5. The police have obtained a five-day remand from the District Administration Office to investigate the accused.
