House of Representatives Meeting Scheduled for Monday

Kathmandu. The meeting of the House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to be held on Monday. The 23rd meeting of the second session is scheduled for 11 AM on Monday.

According to the probable daily agenda published by the Secretary-General of the Parliament Secretariat, Padmaprasad Pandey, the meeting will discuss the upcoming fiscal year 2083's Appropriation Bill and the presentation of expenditure reduction proposals by the Members of Parliament.

At the beginning of the meeting, there is an agenda for the Speaker to make changes in the names of members in various thematic committees under the House of Representatives. After the reconstitution of the committees, discussions on various titles of the Appropriation Bill, 2083 will begin ministry-wise.

The meeting on Monday will primarily involve group discussions on the budget titles of 9 ministries. These include the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, and Ministry of Information and Communications. Similarly, MPs will also express their views on the budget titles of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene, Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, and Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security.

Along with the budget discussion, 5 MPs will present proposals to reduce the expenditure of various ministries in the Parliament. MP Kripa Ram Rana will present a proposal to reduce the expenditure amount of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies budget title to 'one rupee'. Similarly, MP Neeta Ghataani has an agenda to present a proposal to reduce the expenditure amount of the Ministry of Information and Communications and MP Arjun Kumar Karki to reduce the expenditure amount of the Ministry of Education and Sports to 'one rupee'.

Likewise, MP Sajida Khatun Siddiki will present proposals to reduce the expenditure of two ministries: the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene and the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security. MP Ashuda Kumari Baral will present a proposal to reduce the expenditure amount of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration budget title to 'one rupee', according to the Parliament Secretariat.
