Nepal Student Union Leader Dies in Pokhara Road Accident

Pokhara. Nepal Student Union (NeSi) leader Rajiv Bastola has died in a road accident in Srijanachowk, Pokhara.  

While returning after participating in a training program of Kaski District Cooperative Association, the motorcycle on which Bastola was riding was hit from behind by a Ready Mixer vehicle numbered Ba. Pra. 03–001–Ka 1650.

He was seriously injured when the vehicle hit him in the section between Srijanachowk and Sabhagrihachowk. He was immediately rushed to the nearby Metrocity Hospital for treatment after the accident, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police said he died due to a serious head injury. The deceased Bastola is a former central member of NeSi.

Bastola's body has been kept at Manipal Hospital in Pokhara for post-mortem. The Ward Police Office has taken both the Ready Mixer vehicle involved in the accident and the motorcycle on which Bastola was riding under its control and has further investigated the incident.
