Former PM KP Sharma Oli Declares Upcoming Election a Referendum on Nationalism

Jhapa. Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has stated that the upcoming election is not just a general election but also a referendum.

Oli remarked that the election will determine the divide between nationalist and anti-nationalist factions, thus it should be viewed as a referendum. As the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 approaches, former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is interacting with voters in his constituency, Jhapa-5.

In this context, during a program held on Sunday in Damak Municipality-1, he stated that the upcoming election should be considered a referendum rather than just an ordinary election.

'The people will decide the divide between nationalist and anti-nationalist factions through this election,' Oli stated. He mentioned that those seeking to push the country into chaos and create instability are becoming active, and they must be permanently dealt with in the upcoming election.

He further claimed that the victory of nationalist forces is essential in the upcoming election to prevent Nepal from becoming a playground for foreign powers, asserting that CPN-UML is leading the nationalist forces.
