Local Leaders Resign from Rastriya Swatantra Party in Bara Ahead of Elections Citing Dissatisfaction with Nomination Process

As the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21 approaches, several local leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Bara have announced their resignations.

Pawan Chaudhary, RSP Bara District Organization Department Chief, Sanjeev Yadav, Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City Chairman, and Kamaruddin Miyan, Devtal Rural Municipality Chairman, announced their resignations on Friday through a statement published on social media.

They expressed dissatisfaction with the ticket distribution process, mentioning that the party required interested candidates to fill out an online form.

Sanjeev Yadav, Chairman of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, stated that during the online application process, NPR 25,000 was collected from direct candidates and NPR 50,000 from proportional representation candidates, and he demanded the refund of this amount.

More than 50 individuals in Bara had registered their candidacy for direct and proportional representation through the online portal. Party membership was mandatory to fill out the online form. The local leaders claimed that individuals who obtained party membership and applied online were not included.

Yadav further stated that individuals who submitted the fee and filled out the form for proportional representation were also not included from Bara.

Devtal Rural Municipality Chairman Kamaruddin Miyan expressed disagreement with the party's policy and working style adopted for the elections. He mentioned that active members in the organization were not properly evaluated and expressed dissatisfaction with the internal processes.

District Organization Department Chief Pawan Chaudhary also stated that he submitted his resignation to District Chairman Chandan Swarnakar, citing disagreement with the party's internal processes.

Chaudhary was a candidate for Bara Constituency No. 4 in the 2079 House of Representatives election, securing 3,884 votes. District Chairman Swarnakar informed that Chaudhary was also an aspirant for candidacy this time.

In the 2079 House of Representatives election, Chaudhary received the highest number of votes among the 25 candidates from Madhesh Province.

Earlier, Mamata Sharma, a contender for Bara-2 and a founder member of Madhesh Province, had also left the party.

The RSP candidates are Rahbar Ansari for Bara-4, Arvind Singh for Bara-3, Chandan Singh for Bara-2, and Ganesh Dhimal for Bara-1.

District Chairman Chandan Swarnakar stated that the party's central leadership must take the resignations of the district organization chief and municipal chairmen seriously, as it could affect the elections.

Previously, Roshan Adhikari, Deputy Chairman of Bara Constituency No. 3, Dilip Pandit, Deputy Chairman of Constituency No. 4, Manoj Sah, Parwanipur Rural Municipality Chairman, and Pradip Gupta, Secretary of Gadhimai Municipality, had also left the party.
