Election Police Officer Dies in Baitadi While on Duty for House of Representatives Vote

Baitadi. An election police officer deployed for the House of Representatives election has died. District Police Spokesperson Suraj Singh informed that Mahadev Wad, 38, a resident of Babet, Dasharathchand Municipality-4, passed away.

According to Police Spokesperson Singh, Mahadev was found unconscious at home when he went to eat lunch on Thursday afternoon. He was declared dead by doctors upon being rushed to the District Hospital, Baitadi, for treatment. Election police whose homes are near the district headquarters come from home to perform their duties. Mahadev was found unconscious when he went home for lunch after finishing his duty, and doctors declared him dead when he was taken to the District Hospital for treatment.

His body is at the District Hospital for post-mortem, and the hospital administration informed that the examination will only take place tomorrow. Earlier, in the third week of Magh, election police officer Prakash Chand, 32, also from Dasharathchand Municipality-4, had died after falling from a cliff.
