CPN-UML Dang Condemns Rastriya Swatantra Party Activists for Burning Flag and Chanting Slogans

Dang. The CPN (UML) Dang chapter has expressed strong objection after activists of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) allegedly burned the UML flag and chanted slogans against its leadership.

The UML district committee, in a statement issued on Friday, condemned the act, alleging that individuals affiliated with the RSP engaged in indecent sloganeering against UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and burned the party flag in the Tulsipur market area last night.

The statement, signed by District Chairman Shivkumar Acharya, described the activity as anarchic and uncivilized, constituting an attack on democratic norms and the rule of law.

UML concluded that displaying violent and provocative behavior instead of expressing political disagreement through ideas and public mandate demonstrates political immaturity.

UML urged the RSP to present itself as a responsible political force and warned that extreme demonstrations and populism pursued for momentary attention could ultimately lead to disaster.

The statement cautioned the RSP not to mistake the UML's patience and restraint for weakness, and demanded that local administration bring those involved in such activities under the legal framework. Furthermore, UML appealed to its own cadres to stand firm with high morale in defense of democratic values and for a strong rebuttal.
