Bollywood Actor Ranveer Singh Reportedly Threatened by Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member Demanding Rs 10 Crore Ransom

Mumbai. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has been threatened by Harry Boxer, a member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding an extortion amount of 100 million Indian Rupees. A voice note was sent via WhatsApp to Ranveer's manager from a US number, warning him to be prepared for the consequences if the money is not paid. 

According to Indian media outlet NDTV, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is coordinating with US agencies to gather information about the US number. Preliminary investigation suggests that the voice belongs to Harry Boxer, an active member of the Lawrence gang. 

Ranveer first received a threat on February 2, immediately following the shooting incident outside director Rohit Shetty's house. Subsequently, on February 13, another audio clip was sent targeting both Ranveer and Rohit Shetty. 

It stated, ‘Even your seven generations cannot do anything against our power. We know where your manager and family live and when they go out, now we will start targeting them one by one.’ 

Following the threats, the security arrangements for Ranveer Singh and his wife Deepika Padukone have been significantly tightened. Armed security personnel have been deployed at their residence, and the number of private security guards has also been increased. 

The Mumbai Police have recorded the statements of Ranveer and Rohit Shetty's managers, although Ranveer has not yet formally filed an FIR regarding the matter.

The real name of the threatener, Harry Boxer, is Hari Chand Jat. A resident of Alwar, Rajasthan, he was previously a boxing coach in Jaipur, which earned him the nickname 'Boxer'. He faces dozens of cases registered against him in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Delhi for extortion, robbery, and attempted murder.
