Kathmandu Traffic Police Return 53 Recovered Stolen Two-Wheelers to Owners

Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office on Thursday handed over 53 stolen two-wheeled vehicles recovered from various times and locations to their respective owners. During a program organized at the office, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navaraj Adhikari handed over 31 motorcycles and 22 scooters to the owners.

According to the police, these vehicles were recovered from areas including Kadhaghari, Swayambhu, Darbar Marg, Chapagaun, New Bus Park, Balakumari, and Thankot. It was found that thieves had been operating some of the recovered vehicles using fake number plates. Since the beginning of the current fiscal year in Shrawan, the traffic police have already returned 296 stolen vehicles to their owners.

The police also informed that 29 individuals involved in vehicle theft have been arrested and sent to various police circles for further action.

Upon receiving their vehicles back, the happy owners collectively thanked the police. SSP Adhikari advised owners not to park vehicles in isolated areas to prevent theft and recommended installing handle locks, disc locks, as well as GPS systems.

He also urged the public to immediately report lost vehicles to the Traffic Police hotline 103 or the Nepal Police number 100.
