Lumbini Province Government Marks National Democracy Day with Ceremonies in Rapti Valley

Butwal. The Lumbini Province Government celebrated National Democracy Day with various programs. The main ceremony was organized on Thursday in Rapti Valley (Deukhuri), the administrative center of the province.

The event was held under the chairmanship of Acting Chief Secretary Shambhu Prasad Marasini and with the chief hospitality of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Minister Sita Sharma Chaudhary.

Speaking at the program, Minister Chaudhary expressed her belief that only a strong democracy can fulfill the aspirations of citizens' rights, prosperity, and development. She stated that democracy can be further strengthened through the collective efforts of all.

Acting Chief Secretary Marasini mentioned that the constitution ensures citizens' rights and emphasized that all stakeholders must be serious about their effective implementation.

Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Law, Lok Bahadur Sunar, stated that the achievements gained after the 2007 democratic movement brought significant changes in the areas of people's livelihood, freedom, and rights.

The day's occasion saw the participation of heads of various government offices, representatives of security agencies, and employees.
