Rabi Lamichhane Vows to 'Shut Down' Old Parties on Falgun 21

Kathmandu. The Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has stated that the shutters of the old political parties will be closed on Falgun 21.

Addressing the 'Parivartan Udghosh' (Declaration of Change) assembly organized in Dhangadhi on Wednesday, he urged people to vote in favor of change this time.

'On Falgun 21, we will completely shut down the shutters of the old parties. Leaders who make promises but fail to fulfill them, yet the public suffers the consequences for years? This cannot happen! Now, whoever does not fulfill their promise must be punished,' Rabi said. 'Vote for change this time. We won't speak much today. Do not divide your votes this time. We will respect your loyalty. Vote to fulfill the national opportunity.' 

During the program, Rabi also expressed dissatisfaction over the mere discussion about the Singha Durbar being burnt down. He committed that this time, they would not just rebuild what was burnt, but replace it entirely.

Accusing the old political parties of failing to deliver for 35 years, Rabi asserted that the RSP would now resolve the problems of the Far-West region. He stated, 'There are problems here related to medical services and education and health; we will resolve those. Do not divide your votes this time. They will come again to steal votes. They might try to exert pressure, but vote for change without fear of anyone.'
