Former PM Jhalanath Khanal Extends Greetings on Gyalpo Lhosar

Kathmandu. Senior leader of the Nepali Communist Party and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has extended heartfelt best wishes to the entire Sherpa community and all Nepali brothers and sisters on the occasion of 'Gyalpo Lhosar'.

Issuing a message of best wishes on Wednesday, Khanal mentioned that Gyalpo Lhosar, celebrated as the New Year by the Sherpa community residing in various parts of the country, including the eastern Himalayan region, is a unique and traditional festival. He stated that this festival plays an important role in preserving the cultural identity and historical traditions of the Sherpa community.

The statement mentioned that Gyalpo Lhosar is celebrated with great enthusiasm and various cultural programs among the Sherpa community. On this occasion, there is a tradition of receiving blessings from elders and wishing for the good health and long life of family and relatives.

Khanal expressed his belief that this festival will further strengthen mutual harmony, tolerance, cooperation, fraternity, and national unity. Furthermore, he expressed the hope that Gyalpo Lhosar will inspire all Nepalis to move forward on the path of socialism.
