Sudurpashchim Chief Minister Directs Agencies to Ensure Peaceful By-Election on February 21

Kailali. The Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has directed all subordinate bodies to ensure the House of Representatives by-election scheduled for February 21 is conducted peacefully.

During a meeting held here on Tuesday with departmental ministers, state ministers, departmental secretaries, the Chief District Officer of Kailali, and the four security chiefs of the province, he instructed the subordinate agencies to conduct the election without fear and in a peaceful manner. He urged everyone to play their respective roles as successfully conducting the election is the responsibility of the provincial government.

Chief Minister Shah stated that the federal government and federal leadership have already mobilized all state mechanisms for the election, and election materials have reached various locations. He clarified that the provincial government would provide necessary coordination and support.

Furthermore, the meeting decided to celebrate National Democracy Day-2082 grandly. A committee for the National Democracy Day Ceremony, 2082, chaired by the Chief Minister, has been formed to celebrate National Democracy Day on Falgun 7 with grandeur.

Its members include ministers, the Chief of the District Coordination Committee, the Chief Secretary of the Kailali Provincial Government, the Mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, the Division Commander (Uparathi), the Chief Secretary of the Provincial Government, the Chief District Officer of Kailali, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, the Battalion Commander of the Armed Police Force Nepal, Sudurpashchim Province Headquarters, the Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department for Sudurpashchim Province, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law will serve as the Member-Secretary.

Also present at the meeting were Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa, Minister for Social Development Meghraj Khadka, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Hira Sarki, Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bir Bahadur Thapa, Minister of State for Social Development Saraswati Khadka, Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure Development Nirmala Devi Saud, Chief Secretary of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers Baikuntha Prasad Aryal, Division Commander (Uparathi) Kiran KC of the Division Headquarters, Teghari, among others.
