Fugitive Prisoner Who Escaped Jail During Protest Rearrested for Theft in Bara

Bara. A prisoner who escaped from Bhimfedi Jail in Makwanpur during the Janji movement has been arrested red-handed while committing theft again in Bara. Bishal Mukhiya, 26, a resident of Bara's Prasouni Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, was arrested by a team deployed from the Area Police Office, Prasouni, on Falgun 4.

Mukhiya was caught while stealing copper wire from Bishwakarma Metal Industries in Prasouni. The arrested Mukhiya was already serving a sentence for serious crimes.

He had been sentenced by the Makwanpur District Court to 5 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of 1 lakh rupees for forgery and robbery. While serving this sentence, he escaped from Bhimfedi Jail by breaking out on Bhadra 24, 2082.

Mukhiya, who had been on the police wanted list for a long time, was found involved in theft again. He is currently being investigated with a seven-day remand extended by the Bara District Court in the theft case.

According to DSP Vijayaraj Pandit, spokesperson for the Bara District Police Office, further legal proceedings have been initiated as the fugitive prisoner was found to have committed another crime.
