Rautahat Administration Urges Against Using Children in Election Activities Ahead of Upcoming Polls

Rautahat. The District Administration Office, Rautahat, has urged against using children in any political or electoral activities during the election period. The administration issued a notice giving this directive, targeting the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, 2082 BS.

Rautahat's Assistant CDO Jitendra Kumar Yadav made this appeal in a press release issued on Friday. The statement mentioned that since children are the future of the nation, it is the shared responsibility of the state, political parties, and the entire society to protect them from political influence, risky activities, and mental-physical exploitation.

The notice stated that there are clear provisions under the Constitution of Nepal, the Child Rights Act, and international commitments that prohibit the use of children in political activities.

The administration urged all political parties, candidates, supporters, and stakeholders to refrain from using children in any activities such as election rallies, processions, campaigning, etc., to make the election process fully child-friendly, dignified, and lawful.
