Election Commission Begins Dispatching Ballots to 10 Districts in Karnali Province

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has started sending ballot papers to 10 districts in Karnali Province. The dispatching process has begun for the 12 constituencies in the 10 districts of the province where ballot printing has been completed.

According to the Commission, Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Neupane informed that ballot papers were transported to constituencies in Salyan, Rukum West, Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jumla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, and Surkhet in Karnali Province. The Commission also stated that the printing of ballot papers for 124 constituencies across 58 districts has been completed. A total of 15.778 million ballot papers have been printed.

So far, the printing of ballot papers has been completed for Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (Western part), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, Achham, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Taplejung, and Sankhuwasabha.

Similarly, the printing of ballot papers has also been completed for Solukhumbu, Khotang, Dhankuta, Baglung, Gulmi, Jhapa, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat, Bardaghat Susta West (Nawalparasi), Morang, Udayapur, Mustang, Lamjung, Tanahun, Syangja, Bardiya, Rukum East, Dang, Banke, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Rupandehi, Rolpa, Manang, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok.

According to the Commission, 14,341 ballot boxes have been packed so far. Currently, about 1,000 ballot boxes are being packed daily, and 1.3 to 1.5 million ballot papers are being printed daily.

The ballot papers for the House of Representatives election are being printed at Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited, Sanothimi. The Commission stated that 1,098,200 sample ballot papers were printed in the first phase and sent to various districts. The Commission also announced that the printing for the Proportional Representation system ballots began, and by Magh 13, 20.83 million ballot papers were printed, packed, verified, and kept ready for dispatch.

Furthermore, the Commission stated that 20.323 million ballot papers need to be printed for the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) election system. The printing of ballot papers for the FPTP system started on the morning of Magh 16.
