Nepali Congress VP Sharma Pledges Party's Leadership in Democratic System Reform Amid Political Disillusionment

Rupandehi. Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma stated that the Congress will play a leading role in reforming the country's political situation and strengthening the democratic system.

Speaking at a meeting with party members in Bhairahawa on Thursday, he said that political parties must engage in self-improvement to turn the growing disillusionment with politics into hope, and that the Congress has already initiated this process. 

Recalling the Congress's role in past political changes, Vice President Sharma asserted that the responsibility to lead in good governance and development now rests on the shoulders of the Congress. “In this fluid political situation, we must remain composed and prioritize the issues of the people. It is necessary to rise above power-centric thinking and focus on improving the living standards of the citizens. The Congress has already resolved to do this,” he said.

Emphasizing unity within the party and organizational strengthening, Vice President Sharma urged members to abandon factionalism and reach out to the neighborhood level to listen to the grievances of the people and pledge solutions. He expressed concern over the country's economic crisis and the despair seen among the youth, pointing out the need for policy reforms. He committed that the government must work to improve people's livelihoods, rising above the games of power equations, and that the Congress would work with a clear vision to achieve this.

Leader Balkrishna Khand mentioned that challenges are emerging against the constitution and democratic values and beliefs, stating that the Congress must be strong to defend them.
