Nepali Congress Deputy President Claims Party Will Emerge as Largest Force in Upcoming By-Election

Butwal. Nepali Congress Deputy President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has claimed that the transformed Congress will become the largest party in the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.

Speaking at a program organized by the Congress Rupandehi district to meet party members for the House of Representatives Election-2082 in Bhairahawa on Thursday, he asserted, based on information received from various parts of the country, that the Congress would emerge as the leading force.

He stated that the Congress is moving towards a majority to lead the nation again. "Winning is not new for the Congress, nor is losing. But this election is special and serious," he said.

Sharma questioned why the election, which should have been held in 2084, is taking place in 2082, and stated that a serious review is necessary regarding the incident that claimed 74 lives, the fire at Singha Durbar and the Parliament building, and the loss of billions. He mentioned that they would seek votes from the electorate after evaluating these incidents.

Former Home Minister and former central member of the Congress, Balkrishna Khand, stated that a Congress majority is essential in the upcoming election. He urged all leaders and cadres to unite and ensure the victory of the candidates. Highlighting that the Gautam Buddha International Airport was constructed under the leadership of the Congress government, he said its effective operation would also be possible under Congress leadership.

Central member and Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Abdul Razzak claimed that only the Congress can solve the country's problems. He stated that the Congress must be voted in to institutionalize achievements.

Bharat Kumar Shah, the candidate for the House of Representatives from Rupandehi Constituency No. 5, said that the Congress has changed and now needs to change the country. He emphasized the need to make the country corruption-free.

Raju Khanal, Coordinator of the Congress Lumbini Province Election Mobilization Committee, stated that the demands of the Gen Z generation can only be addressed if a Congress-led government is formed after Falgun 21. He added that Congress leadership is necessary for the protection and stability of the constitution.

Ramkrishna Khand, Congress Rupandehi District President, and former Central Member Ganga Shahi also addressed the program.
