Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Urges Voters Not to Treat Upcoming Election as Routine Affair

Kathmandu. The Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rajendra Prasad Lingden, has urged general voters not to treat the upcoming election as a routine periodic election.

Addressing a program introducing candidates from the district in Kathmandu, he stated that the country is currently in a serious crisis and that the election will determine the future of the nation.

Chairman Lingden recalled that RPP has consistently advocated for a new agreement between the monarchy, political parties, and the younger generation from the beginning.

He said, "We suggested building a fundamental system suitable for the country before the election, but the country has been forcefully pushed towards elections. As a democratic party, we have decided to utilize this opportunity."

Comparing the importance of voting to the giving away of a daughter in marriage, Lingden stated that voting should not be done based on looking at Facebook, Reels, or TikTok. He remarked that it is an act of handing over one's power by cutting off one's hand.

He said, "How many times do we think before giving away a daughter? How thoroughly do we test the background, character, and qualifications of the family? If a daughter ends up in the wrong house, only she suffers, but if a single vote goes to the wrong place, the entire nation suffers."

Lingden expressed concern that elements inciting the burning of Singha Durbar and those unable to protect it are now leaning towards extremism, emphasizing the need for RPP to save the country from extremism. He stated that if a force with clear ideology like RPP becomes weak in parliament, the country is certain to head towards a bigger disaster.

He asserted that electing RPP is essential to prevent the country from further conflict and to maintain stability. Lingden claimed that RPP carries not only the issues of monarchy and a Hindu nation but also a clear roadmap for development.
