Janak Shiksha Materials Center Printing 1.3 Million Ballots Daily for Upcoming Elections

Bhaktapur. Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited, Sano Thimi, is currently printing 1.3 million ballot papers daily for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. The center's Managing Director, Yadunath Poudel, informed that out of a total requirement of 20.3 million ballot papers for the first-past-the-post system, 8 million ballots had been printed by Thursday evening.

He stated that printing is proceeding at a rate of up to 1.3 million ballots per day, and the 'packing' work will commence within the next week once all printing is complete. Managing Director Poudel added, "The center has already completed printing 1 million sample ballot papers, which the Election Commission has distributed to various locations. Printing and 'packing' for the 20.83 million proportional representation ballots have been completed. We will finish printing the first-past-the-post ballots this month."

He further mentioned that the transportation of proportional representation ballots will begin on Magh 25/26, and after completing the printing of the first-past-the-post ballots by the end of the month, all materials will be dispatched to the districts by Falgun 1/2.

It has been reported that 8 million ballot papers for the first-past-the-post system across 60 constituencies for the House of Representatives election have been printed. Poudel stated, "Printing of 20.8548 million proportional representation ballots has been completed, and printing of 20.0323 million first-past-the-post ballots began on Magh 12. The center is working according to the Election Commission's plan to dispatch all ballot papers to every constituency by Falgun 3."

The Commission has also arranged for the respective District Election Offices to procure the 37 types of materials required for the elections.
