Voting Underway for National Assembly Elections Across Seven Provinces

Kathmandu. Voting is underway in all seven provinces for the National Assembly elections. According to the Election Commission, voting began in all seven provinces from 9:00 AM.

Under this, by 9:30 AM in Lumbini Province, 26 votes from the Provincial Assembly members had been cast. Likewise, 50 votes from the local levels have been cast, informed Election Commission Spokesperson Narayan Bhattarai. Elections are being held for 17 out of the 18 vacant seats starting from Falgun 20.

Eight candidates are contesting in the election for three seats in Lumbini. The Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have fielded joint candidates. Three candidates have been registered from the Congress-UML alliance, three from the CPN (Communist Party), and two from the Rastriya Janamorcha. Three members, including one woman, one person with disabilities/minority, and one other, will be elected from Lumbini Province.
