Gagan Thapa Mourns Death of Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey, Praises His Contributions

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has stated that the nation has lost a sharp intellectual personality, moral leadership, and a vigilant guardian of democracy with the demise of civil activist Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey, who stood fearlessly throughout his life for civil liberty, equality, human rights, and democratic consciousness. 

He says – 'At the decisive junctures of Nepal's democratic movement, he coordinated the struggle from the citizen level, raised a firm voice against autocracy, and continuously inspired the new generation.'

President Thapa further wrote on social media – 'As Finance Secretary, Finance Minister, development thinker, and good governance advocate, he gave a new perspective to the discourse on Nepal's economy, public administration, and development. The honesty, transparency, and moral courage he demonstrated in public life will be an invaluable legacy for future generations. His role in favor of social harmony, equality, and national unity is particularly memorable.  The lamp of civic consciousness he lit and the intellectual property he left behind will always guide us.'
