Mayor Balen Shah Returns to Kathmandu After Six-Day Tour of Koshi Province

Biratnagar. Balen Shah, who resigned from his position in Kathmandu to participate in a convention in Janakpur, the capital of Madhes Province, has returned to the federal capital Kathmandu seven days later.

After holding a convention in Janakpur, he conducted several meetings in Madhes Province, after which he focused his attention on Koshi Province. Entering Koshi Province on the evening of Magh 5, he stayed at his in-laws' residence in Pashupati Marg, Urlabari Municipality-7, that day.

The next morning, after some meetings, he went to file his candidacy in Jhapa Constituency 5. That day, after filing his candidacy, he stayed in Damak, meeting with supporters. The following day, he met with over 3,000 supporters and well-wishers from not only his own constituency but also from Jhapa, Sunsari, and Morang, at the residence of Lucky Sitoula in Damak-5, where he was staying.

After that, he left for Ilam at 4 PM in the evening, stayed overnight in Ilam headquarters, and met supporters. The next day, Magh 8, he arrived at Taplejung headquarters, met his supporters and well-wishers, and then proceeded to visit the Pathibhara Temple. Having stayed in Upper Phedi that day, Balen left for Tehrathum via Panchthar on the 9th.

Balen also met with supporters in Tehrathum and reached Sankhuwasabha on Saturday (the 10th). While he had personal conversations in a casual setting in other districts, he held a brief program alongside the candidates from Tehrathum and Sankhuwasabha, unlike other districts where he avoided making collective statements.

After finishing the Sankhuwasabha program Saturday morning, Balen arrived in Dhankuta. Although a program was scheduled to meet voters and supporters by walking from Bheem Narayan Chowk to Madan Chowk in Dhankuta headquarters, he ended up touring the Dhankuta headquarters area by vehicle.

Following this, he greeted supporters from his vehicle in Itahari, Sunsari. Arriving in Biratnagar in the evening, he held discussions with his supporters and some candidates. Following this, he departed from Biratnagar for Kathmandu that same evening.

Although his flight from Biratnagar to Kathmandu was scheduled for 5 PM, his plane was delayed by one hour. During that time, he stayed at Hotel Purple Haze on Airport Road. Upon learning of his presence there, a large crowd of supporters gathered. However, Balen greeted them from his vehicle before entering the airport.

Leaders of the party state that Balen's tour of Koshi Province has increased the number of supporters. Birendra Shrestha, the RSP candidate from Taplejung, stated that Balen Shah's arrival has boosted the number of RSP supporters. He said, "The atmosphere is building in our favor."
