Weather Changes and Rising Pollution Reported in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu. The weather in the Kathmandu Valley has also changed due to the influence of the Western disturbance. Furthermore, pollution in the valley's atmosphere has also increased. 

A chill has been experienced since Saturday morning, and the environment has become hazy. The Western disturbance has caused snowfall and rain in Sudurpashchim Province. The weather has also changed in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. 

The Department of Meteorology stated that the weather remains mostly clear in the remaining areas. Based on data from the US Embassy's pollution monitoring center in Kathmandu, the Swiss air pollution monitoring app IQAir has declared the air quality in Kathmandu as 'very unhealthy'. According to that report, Kathmandu's Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 206.
