Six Candidates Withdraw Nominations for Upcoming House of Representatives Election in Karnali Province

Surkhet. Six candidates have withdrawn their nominations for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. According to the District Election Office, a total of six candidates from Kalikot, Humla, and Salyan withdrew their nominations.

Among them, the highest number, four candidates, withdrew from Kalikot. Chief Election Officer of the Main Election Office Kalikot, Kul Prasad Dahal, informed that those who withdrew their candidacies include Bhupendra Jung Shahi, who contested independently from the Nepali Congress, rebel candidate Jivan Budha from the Nepal Communist Party, Dharmaraj Neupane from the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, and Premsingh Tiruwa from the Deshbhakta Party.

According to him, 14 candidates had filed nominations in Kalikot. Now, 10 candidates remain in contention. In Humla, Jay Bahadur Shahi of the Miteri Nepal Party withdrew his candidacy. Seven candidates now remain in Humla.

In Salyan, out of 16 who registered nominations, candidate Mansingh Bik from the Aam Janata Party withdrew his candidacy. Now, 15 candidates remain in Salyan. The District Election Office stated that no candidates withdrew their nominations from other districts.

Accordingly, 11 candidates are in the field in Jajarkot, 10 candidates including one independent in Jumla, and nine candidates including one independent in Dolpa have their nominations confirmed.

Seven candidates are contesting the elections in Mugu, while 30 candidates are in the field in Surkhet, which has two constituencies. Thirteen candidates remain in Surkhet Constituency No. 1 and 17 in Constituency No. 2.

In Dailekh Constituency No. 1, 10 candidates remain, and 11 in Constituency No. 2, while 12 candidacies remain confirmed in Rukum West. With this, 132 candidacies have been confirmed across Karnali. Karnali has 12 constituencies.
