Congress Supporters Rally at Party Headquarters Chanting 'Gagan Government This Time' for Newly Elected President

Chants of 'Aapki Bar Gagan Sarkar' (Gagan Government This Time) echoed at the Nepali Congress central office in Sanepa as supporters greeted the newly elected president, Thapa, upon his arrival to assume office. This occurred after he was elected in the special general convention.

Thapa arrived at the central office in Sanepa eight days after being elected president to formally take up his duties. Following the assumption of office by the office bearers elected during the special general convention, a central working committee meeting has also been scheduled.

A 135-member central working committee was elected under Thapa's leadership during the special general convention held from Poush 27 to 30. The central committee meeting is expected to decide on declaring President Thapa as the candidate for Prime Minister and proceeding with the elections.
