Armed Police Force Constable Kaviraj Chhetri Named 'Jawan of the Year'

Kaviraj Chhetri has been declared the 'Jawan of the Year' for the Armed Police Force (APF) this year. He was announced as the Jawan of the Year on the occasion of the 25th Armed Police Day and Silver Jubilee celebrations. APF Assistant Sub-Inspector Chhetri was honored by IGP Raju Aryal with a cash prize of NPR 10,000 at a ceremony held on Friday at the APF headquarters in Halchowk.

Chhetri is a rescuer. The declared 'Jawan of the Year' will receive an opportunity to participate in a peacekeeping mission. Furthermore, the Armed Police Force Headquarters stated that one of his children will receive an educational scholarship of NPR 10,000 annually until they complete Grade 12.

During the Armed Police Day central inspection, commendation awards were presented to the outstanding units of the APF. This year, Number-5 Vindhyabasini Battalion, Rupandehi, was declared the best battalion. The head of the battalion (DIG) Dipendra Kunwar will be awarded by the President on Friday evening.

On Friday morning, APF Inspector General Aryal awarded Subedar Major Armed Police Senior Nayab Subba Ram Naresh Ahir from the battalion. In the category of Fixed Term and Service Group, Mahottari was the best. IGP Aryal presented the commendation award to the Group Commander, Technical Armed Police Inspector Rameshwar Kuinkel.

Among the groups, DSP Ganga KC, the Group Commander of Number-19 Group, Nuwakot, and Subedar Major (Sainik) Sajan Kumar Shrestha were presented with commendation awards for achieving excellence.

SP Khum Bahadur KC and Senior Sainik Min Bahadur Rana from Number-12 Battalion Headquarters in Bara, which became the best battalion, were awarded. In the training academy category, the Disaster Management Training Academy in Kurintar was outstanding. Inspector General Aryal awarded the Commandant of the training academy, SSP Bharat Khaniya.
