CPN-UML Leader Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Candidate Imposition in Sindhuli-2

​Sindhuli. CPN-UML leader Maheshwor Dahal has expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that the candidate imposed by the central leadership for Sindhuli Constituency Number 2 disregards the recommendation made by the party's district working committee.

​The district party working committee had recommended the names of Haribol Gajurel, Paniraj Bamjan, and Maheshwor Dahal for Sindhuli-2. Based on this recommendation, Dahal has registered his candidacy at the election officer's office.

​Haribol Gajurel is the proposer and Paniraj Bamjan is the supporter for Dahal's candidacy. He stated that this move sends a message of unity among the district's official team.

​Local leaders and cadres are reportedly upset because Rajan Dahal, who was recommended for Sindhuli Constituency Number 1, was suddenly brought to Constituency Number 2. Leader Dahal objected to the central leadership abruptly changing the candidate, overriding the decision and recommendation made by the district level.

​Speaking with Ratopati, leader Dahal said, "We have registered our candidacy according to the decision of the district working committee, so there is no plan to withdraw it. It is not justified to bring a person recommended for Sindhuli-1 to Constituency Number 2. We are confident that the party leadership will soon understand the sentiment of the district and revoke the centrally imposed candidate, recognizing the local recommendation instead."

​He also claimed that their action is not against the party's interest but rather to protect the internal democracy and the sentiments of the cadres in the district. It appears that the candidates recommended by the district will stand firm until the center revises its decision.
