RSS DGM Shakya retires from service
Kathmandu, Dec 29: Deputy General Manager of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Raju Shakya, has retired from RSS service due to age limit.
Shakya, who had joined RSS service as a reporter of officer rank (sixth level) on a permanent basis on November 21, 1991, retired from RSS service on December 24, 2025.
He served as Head of RSS's International News Desk, Chief Reporter, Chief Editor of Nepali News Desk and Chief of Information Technology section during his 34 years career at RSS. He had also worked at RSS English Desk.
A programme was organised at RSS central office, Bhadrakali, to officially bid farewell to Shakya. RSS management, RSS employees association, organisation, union as well as Federation of Nepali Journalists RSS Chapter presented letter of appreciation and token of love to Shakya.
On the occasion, RSS Executive Chairman Dharmendra Jha said Shakya's commitment and dedication towards RSS was exemplary.
"The RSS will always remember Shakya's contribution to the development of Information Technology and establishment of RSS museum," he opined.
Similarly, General Secretary Sandip Rai mentioned that Shakya had performed the responsibility entrusted by the organisation with honesty, adding RSS staffs should follow Shakya's footsteps.
Shakya also shared about institutional development, challenges, experiences and feelings during his service time in RSS.
RSS Executive Manager Shital Prasad Mahato expressed the view that Shakya has made significant contribution for RSS's welfare.
