Man Dies After Self-Immolation Attempt in Kathmandu; Government Criticized

Kathmandu. Ganesh Nepali of Soru Rural Municipality-1, Mugu, who attempted self-immolation in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu on Thursday, has died during treatment. He was seriously injured with about 55 percent of his body burned and died during treatment at Bir Hospital. After Nepali's death, the government is being widely criticized on social media.

 Actor Deepakraj Giri has also criticized the government in this incident. He expressed the sentiment that the government is responsible for the death of Ganesh Nepali and stated that the government's first wicket has fallen. He writes, 'The first wicket of the government, which has immense public support, has fallen.'

Similarly, another actor Sitaram Kattel 'Dhurmus' has also written a status on Facebook saying that he sees his own reflection in Ganesh Nepali. Sitaram writes, 'Heartfelt tribute to Ganesh Nepali. I see my own reflection in Ganesh Nepali, who has been living amidst pain, despair, and suffocation for a long time. May the state become a true guardian of all citizens.'

He has urged the government to create an environment where people can live with dignity by working in the country. Ganesh Nepali had self-immolated by dousing himself with petrol in front of the Passport Department building in Tripureshwor.
