Ranjita Shrestha Questions Government's Work Style and Socio-Economic Conditions

Kathmandu. Stating that tears shed in sorrow, grief, and hunger are never false, Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Ranjita Shrestha has raised serious questions about the government's work style and socio-economic conditions. 

Expressing dissatisfaction with the incident of self-immolation by Pathao driver Ganesh Nepali and the government's style of managing squatters, she made her views public through social media.

She criticized the government for prioritizing point 92 over point 91 of its '100-day agenda' regarding the management of squatters yesterday. She recalled that she had repeatedly raised her voice in the parliament and submitted applications to the concerned bodies so that mothers breastfeeding their babies, new mothers, and elderly parents would not be treated with the same kind of cruelty. Her conclusion is that this action by the government in the process of removing squatters is not at all appropriate.

Speaking about the self-immolation of Pathao driver Ganesh Nepali, MP Shrestha said that this incident should not be limited only to bearing his medical expenses. She stated that a deep investigation should be conducted into why Ganesh Nepali reached the point of setting himself on fire, and the government should draw inspiration from that investigation for its work. 

One Ganesh physically burned himself, but she emphasized that policies should come from the government to make life somewhat easier for the millions of youth who daily think 'I can't, should I die?'.

Although some people call such a situation mere weak morale, she clarifies that the feeling of 'I can't' is not just weak morale. This is a situation that arises from reality after people are pushed to the limit by the social and economic structure. 

Therefore, mere counseling cannot be a solution to this situation. Her understanding is that fulfilling basic needs in life is the greatest security for the mind.

While admitting that it is not possible to bring about radical change and create millions of jobs at once within 100 days of forming the government, she mentioned that the study and initiation of its foundation can be done. She says that although that work is being done now, it is not possible to make everyone happy at once. 

However, she urged the government to pay attention, stating that the cries of the laborers and the poor at the very bottom of society can be easily stopped. She also wishes for her statement to be recorded on social media.
