CPN UML Chief Whip Mahar States Ganesh Nepali Death Proves State Failure

Kathmandu. CPN UML Chief Whip Ain Mahar has stated that the Ganesh Nepali death case is proof of state failure. Reaching Bir Hospital after Nepali's death on Friday, leader Mahar said that due to the state's policies, ordinary citizens are reaching the point of self-immolation, and the party will raise a strong voice against this. 

"The state, rather than protecting and serving citizens, is suppressing them, creating fear, terrifying them, and imposing authoritarianism," Mahar said, "The government must take responsibility for Ganesh Nepali's death."

Mahar stated that Ganesh Nepali's death can be seen as a result of policies that impose taxes on citizens to collect revenue, break the backs of the poor and landless, and take their lives. He said that the government's behavior and intentions even after the incident are suspicious.
