Stock Market Experiences Dashain Slowdown
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased today, reflecting a slowdown in market activity as the Dashain festival approaches. On the last trading day of the week, Thursday, the market index fell by 2.35 percent, closing at 2,652 points.
Drop in Trading Volume
The total turnover for the day was 3 billion 26 crore rupees. This is a decrease compared to the previous day's turnover of 4 billion 4 crore rupees. The decline in trading is attributed to the fact that, starting today, payments for shares sold will not be processed until after the Dashain holidays, leading to reduced market activity.

Out of all the traded companies, the share prices of 107 companies increased. Meanwhile, the share prices of 139 companies decreased, and 5 companies saw their share prices remain stable.
Sector-Wise Performance
The Trading, Banking, Mutual Fund, and Investment sectors saw an increase in their sub-indices. In contrast, all other sectoral indices declined. The Hotel and Tourism sector experienced the most significant drop, falling by 1.49 percent.
